RFCY Grant Application Now Available!

The Richmond Fund for Children and Youth FY 2021-24 Request for Proposals and Grant Application deadline has been extended!

On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, the Richmond City Council approved and directed the Richmond Department of Children and Youth (RDCY) to re-open the RDCY Request for Proposals (RFP) that will fund organizations and programming that support Richmond youth from birth to 24 years of age. Per the City Council’s direction, Department staff will extend the grant application deadline to June 1, 2021. For the initial grant period (Fiscal Year 2021-2022), RDCY anticipates that approximately $1.5 million will be available for grants.

Current Applicants 

  • If your organization has previously submitted an application and you would not like to make any updates, no action is required from you.
  • If your organization has previously submitted an application and you would like to make updates, you must (1) notify RDCY staff by Thursday, May 13 at 5:00pm to withdrawal your existing application and (2) resubmit your application by the deadline of June 1, 2021 at 2:00pm. 
  • If your organization has previously submitted application(s) as a lead agency, you may submit additional applications as a lead agency. Please note that an organization may submit more than one (1) but no more than three (3) proposals as a lead agency.

New Applicants 

  • Organizations that have not previously submitted an application may submit if all eligibility requirements are met. Eligible organizations must comply with all requirements as listed in the revised 2021-2014 RFP.
  • Community partners are encouraged to review the amended RFP, grant application, and application materials available on www.ci.richmond.ca.us/RFCYGrants.
  • Entities listed under Article 15, Section 5b (West Contra Costa Unified School District, Richmond libraries, Office of Neighborhood Safety, Richmond Promise College Scholarship Program, Richmond Housing Authority and Richmond YouthWORKS) may apply as a single entity as long as they meet the definition of collaboration and can demonstrate collaboration in the application. Those entities may also apply as part of a collaborative.

About Us

The Department and Fund for Children and Youth were created in order to provide a sustainable funding stream for youth-serving organizations in Richmond and North Richmond. This will be done by providing grant funding to various organizations serving Richmond and North Richmond youth under the age of 24. The first grants will be distributed by July 2021.
